"Time for each other" appears to be the key for happy relationships.

This was the headline of an article in the Nederlands Dagblad on June 20.

Young couples with children make the least time for each other, according to a large, representative survey of people with a permanent relationship. Moreover, parents of young children give their relationship a lower grade, namely a 7.6. When there are no children or they are out of the house, the average score is considerably higher (8.3). The same research shows that many partners want to undertake joint activities more often and want to talk better to each other than they do now. Good sex is also one of the most mentioned wishes.

Maybe you recognize something in your own relationship. Whether you have young children or not: before you know it, your week is full and there is hardly any time left to really meet your husband or wife. It may also be that you enter a new phase in a relationship, because of a move or because your children are leaving the house or you are going to retire. Reasons to take time for each other.

The Marriage Course consists of 8 evenings (including the information evening). The focus is on the two of you. You do the course at the same time as other couples, but you always have only two people to discuss the topics, not in the group !!

Every evening consists of a dinner for two. That way you can catch up with your partner undisturbed and enjoy delicious food. After dinner, watch and listen to the introduction. This consists of viewing parts of the video about the theme and examples / explanation of the course leaders, after which you discuss this further with your husband or wife.

The themes that will be discussed are:

Laying strong foundations
The art of communication
Resolving conflicts
The power of forgiveness
The impact of family history and present
Good sex
Love in action
To get an impression of what a course evening looks like, an information evening will be held on September 18 from 8 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. in the Evangelische Gemeente Enschede, Heidestraat 9.

The course itself takes place at Captain Jack in Buurse on the following Wednesday evenings: 16 October 2019, 6 November 2019, 20 November 2019, 15 January 2020, 29 January 2020, 12 February 2020 and 26 February 2020.
